Hi everyone! Over the past two weeks, it was great to see many of you attend several high-quality executive gatherings and conferences hosted by customers and partners.
Leaders trust, and AI adoption is a thing!
A prevailing theme in discussions about the state of AI is the importance of both adoption and trust.
While safety has been discussed, today I want to focus on trust. But what does trust mean in this context?
Let's categorize AI into two distinct types that have emerged in HR and recruiting: "Human-in-the-loop" and "embedded AI."
During one of the recent events, a GenX person surveyed her peers about trust in institutions and why they are distant and provide limited information. Trust often starts with one's expectations, which are closely linked to the question "What's in it for me?" or what are the incentives to ensure action?
In many cases, embedded AI is about the interests of the company, and that's okay. But what role can you play? Human-in-the-loop AI is in the interest of the job.
It's important to consider the context of human in the loop, in relations to careers, jobs, and tasks.
- How is trust put into context, and does it align with expectations? What is the context, and what are the expectations?
A purpose is always important in order to answer this. This is where it's handy to have your own personal mission statement. Mine and that of our company, Eq.app, is:
"To unlock opportunities through inclusion, innovation, and inspiration." What's yours?
As an individual, here are some examples of the trust issues:
Questions to consider:
Does this company have my best interests at heart?
What problem are you solving?
We often hear about the cost of delivery in high-demand jobs and the opposite in high-supply jobs, as well as the fluctuating cost of customer acquisition in recruiting.
"At EQ.app, the main problem we are working on is reducing costs using AI. My advice is that if you have deep domain experience or lead a team or company, you have a significant advantage with AI, especially in recruiting. This is because you understand something that AI does not yet know intimately: "people". The AI will find another human to partner with."
